We are a small, local, independent firm of Chartered Surveyors specialising in residential building surveying, with particular expertise in conservation and historic buildings.

Based out of Brighton & Hove, we offer bespoke and comprehensive surveys, reports, and valuations of residential properties across the South-East of England. We have extensive experience in surveying the local housing stock and are specialists in this field. We provide expert survey advice on historic and Listed Buildings (including Bungaroosh construction) and can provide you with our own unique Historic Building Surveys for such homes.

Tom is the founder and director of South East Surveyors Ltd. Tom has extensive previous experience spanning across a range of firms including small independent general practises through to one of the largest corporate surveying firms in the UK. After being disappointed with what seems to have become accepted as the 'industry standard', Tom created South East Surveyors to provide a service he could be proud of. Obtained an alternative survey quote?
Admittedly, we may not always be the cheapest out there, but this is because we firmly believe in going over and above to help our clients get the survey and information they deserve. Unfortunately, this is a more time-intensive process compared with some of the other 'factory-style' reports often churned out by some firms. If you have indeed received a quotation cheaper than our own, you may wish to consider asking the firm/surveyor the following:

Do you carry out a full and thorough investigation on all surveys (opening all windows, testing services in everyday operation etc.)?

What equipment do you use for surveys (does this include equipment such as hygrometers, thermal imaging cameras, endoscopes etc.)?

How many photographs would you typically include in the report (SES will typically include a minimum of 40-60 annotated and labelled photographs for a Building Survey)?

Ask for a sample report and check to see if this matches your needs/requirements.
